Made-to-Measure

Made-to-measure describes an existing garment or pattern that is adjusted for the customer, to their specific measurements.

Mandarin Collar

A Mandarin Collar is a short unfolded stand-up collar style on a shirt or jacket. Mandarin collars start at the neckline and typically do not rise more than an inch.

Maxi Dress

A Maxi Dress is a full length dress, also know as a “Patio Dress”. Maxi Dresses can be either casual or formal in their design and work well for covering flaws. Diane Von Furstenberg, Nicole Miller, and Juicy Couture are among the many talented designers brands that have featured maxi dresses in their collections.

Mermaid

“Mermaid” refers to the style of an evening wear dress that is cut slim fitted throughout the torso, hips, and thighs, and then flares out below the knee to a full hem.

Metrosexual

Metrosexual is a neologism generally applied to heterosexual men with a strong concern for their appearance, or whose lifestyles display attributes stereotypically seen among gay men. A perfect example? David Beckham.

Mid-Rise

Mid-Rise refers to jeans or Pants that sit just below the natural waist. Brands such as Seven for All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, J. Brand, and Joe’s Jeans are especially well know for their mid-rise denim.
