The term "Edgy" refers to anything that is pushing the envelope or on the cutting edge. Edgy fashion would be considered new, unique, and (possibly) trendsetting.
An Empire waist is the waistline sewn just below the bust. This style is common in women's for tops and dresses, because of it's flattering fit.
Empire seams are the seams sewn directly below the bustline on women's clothing.
