The rich history of the House of Emanuel Ungaro begins with its eponymous founder, Emanuel Ungaro, whose creativity and artistry launched the legendary brand nearly half a century ago. In 1955, at the age of 22, Emanuel Ungaro moved to Paris to work under the tutelage of Cristobal Balenciaga. Mr. Balenciaga, who was renowned as a genius of cut, taught Emanuel Ungaro the most important lessons in fashion architecture, and, soon, Mr. Ungaro himself had mastered the way to cut and drape cloth so that it fell perfectly. In 1965, Emanuel Ungaro decided to launch his own line of clothing so that he could create feminine looks that were not only elegant, but also desire-evoking. Season after season, Emanuel Ungaro dared to be different, combining sensual clashes of colors and graphics, monochromatic tones and contrasts, polka dots and stripes, flowers and figures, shadows and light, confidence and softness. The result is a brand that is famous for its unwavering ability to seduce.  Located on the Avenue Montaigne in the heart of Paris’s couture fashion district since 1967, the House of Emanuel Ungaro has acquired international fame with its unquestioning femininity and incredible sense of colors, unexpected patterns, purity of shape and exquisite attention to detail. Today, the brand is present in all international markets: Europe, the United States, Asia and the Middle East. In 1997, the Ferragamo family became the major shareholder of the House, and in 2005, they sold it to an American entrepreneur. In addition to the women's ready-to-wear "Emanuel Ungaro", the House has the two diffusion collections "Ungaro Fuchsia" and "U by Ungaro" as well as the following three men's ready-to-wear under the labels "Ungaro Homme", "U by Ungaro" and "Emanuel / Emanuel Ungaro". After the phenomenal success of the legendary fragrance "Diva", Ungaro launched the following fragrances for both women and men: "Apparition", "Ungaro", "Ungaro Party". The diffusion line U by Ungaro also launched its “U by Ungaro” fragrance for women and for men worldwide in 2008. On June 8, 2011, Jeffry M. Aronsson was named the Chief Executive Officer of Emanuel Ungaro S.A.S. Mr. Aronsson has extensive experience and expertise in formulating and executing strategies in the fashion and retail sectors, and, prior to joining Emanuel Ungaro, was the CEO of several esteemed fashion houses.
